Field Observation - The American West
“So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living...

Wisdom - Roger Ebert on Terrence Malick’s The Tree...
Many films diminish us. They cheapen us, masturbate our senses, hammer us with shabby thrills, diminish the value of life. Some few films evoke the wonderment of life’s experience, and those I consider a form of prayer. Not prayer “to” anyone or anything, but prayer “about” everyone and everything. I believe prayer that makes requests is pointless. What will be, will be. But I value the kind of...

From EWOKONE
So, here is the paragraph from the essay which contains the language which Bill Hammick has bastardized to make a statement that neither T.S. Eliot nor Picasso ever made:
One of the surest tests [of the superiority or inferiority of a poet] is the way in which a poet borrows. Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal; bad poets deface what they take, and good poets make it...

Still going...
I remember crashing on my face in my own garage attempting to do a move I saw in a video. Over and over, I smacked my body on the cold cement floor. The following day, I healed up and practiced again. That was 10 years ago. Now, I still fall but the healing process has taken quite longer. The bruised and jacked up knee. The elbow that feels like jello from it being shattered years back. The back...

Field Observation - Liz
Going through my old photo collages… The original photos were taken two and half years ago. The camera was made out of a cement block with a 4x5 105mm lens taped to it. If you can find her work, Liz Haywood, she’s quite an amazing illustrator.

“We’re there to put that script on the screen, not to show how good we can make it look, or how beautiful a designer we are, or how great a cinematographer we are….Some of the most beautiful movies I’ve seen haven’t been very good. It’s very easy for technique to overshadow the content.”

ART and INFORMATION
Lobbies mean a lot for the people visiting a new space—they provide a first impression and shape all the impressions that follow. Lobbies can mean even more to a building’s occupants, who experience the same space every day.

Field Observations - Lexus
My little brother Lexus. Lexus has always been one of my biggest influences on me for perfecting one’s craft. He practices golf 4-6 hours a day and will push his passion to the limit. He’s somewhat a golf prodigy, winning adult tournaments when he was 13-years-old. He’s also another solider helping my mom out battle out her cancer. He has a totally different personality from...

My Mom's Battle
This is my mom and she’s one of the greatest human beings I know. It’s hard to write about people you love because there so many things you want to cover from the bad times and the good times that happen between you and them. Lately, it’s been even harder. My mom was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma cancer back in May. For the past two months, she’s been receiving radiation treatments for her...

Some cultures, by their very nature, force the individual inward. Introspection by the individual, helps forge and mold these groups of thought and action. But this is not about and end product. Or any product. This is an attempt to capture moments during our journey.

Field Observation - Unstabilization
Unstable Molecules. They exist as a configuration of unknown atomic nuclei and electrons that are responsive to certain energized matter around them. Unstable molecules are typically utilized in fabrics beyond our understandings. It allows the fabric to conform with the wearer’s form and to not succumb to the wearer mutation. Essentially, it acts as an extension of the wearer’s skin.
Wisdom - Stanley Kubrick
“The whole idea that a movie should be seen only once is an extension of our traditional conception of the film as an ephemeral entertainment rather than as a visual work of art. We don’t believe that we should hear a great piece of music only once, or see a great painting once, or even read a great book just once. But the film had until recent years been exempted from the category...
